Fighting the urge to go back to sleep.

Its irritating that I am gone for about 14 hours a day Monday through Friday. When I finally get home all I want to do is sleep. When its finally the weekend all I want to do is take a day off. Nothing is ever easy. Dishes, laundry, and lack of groceries is making my to do list look less inviting and now I'm fully resisting the urge to curl up with a good movie, a cup of hot chocolate, and a warm blanket. Oh wait... I am out of hot chocolate. OK ill do the dishes. Oh wait.. I'm out of dish soap. OK I'll do the laundry. Oh wait.. I'm out of dryer sheets. DAMN! I guess the grocery store comes first. BLAH!

I don't discuss politics but I do have an opinion.

Today, for the first time in a long time, I realize I am proud of my country. When I say country I DO NOT mean our government. I mean We the People. I DO NOT mean the rich that keep getting richer. I mean the low to middle income families, that make up the vast majority of this country, falling below the poverty line. The ones who have worked until their bodies are bent and broken and still have nothing. Those are the people that make up the foundation of this country.

The censorship bills are just the latest in a long line of slowly taking away our rights. One more step to a controlled society labeled "For the benefit of the people." Rules made by the rich and suffered by the poor. I AM PROUD that my America is finally standing up. Occupying the hearts and minds of mindless drones who don't even realize they are being controlled.

Our very own Declaration of Independence says this ....

Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Our very first Amendment in the Bill of Rights says this ...
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

So many times in the past year these fundamental rights have been violated. Blatantly violated. On purpose. in public. I AM PROUD that people are finally making a stand.

What am I going to do to make things better? I am going to leave. In order for these United States to become whole again it will need people who still care about it. People who are willing to stand up for the basic rights of everyone else. I am not one of those people. I gave up along time ago.
